Casino Del Sol Closing
— Casino del Sol is the latest major business to close its doors amid concerns over the coronavirus in Arizona. The closure involves all casino properties and will start Wednesday.
On Thursday, the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Council and Casino Del Sol management announced the temporary closure of Casino Del Sol, Casino of the Sun, the Resort, and Estrella at Casino Del Sol effective Monday, Dec. 7, 2020 at 11 a.m.. The plan includes reopening to the public on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 at 8 a.m.
“Our experience with safety, distancing, and cleaning protocols, has been both positive and effective,” the organization announced on its website. “Yet we ask ourselves, what can we do as a part of this community to help slow the spread of the virus? The way we can help do that is by closing temporarily.
TUCSON - Casino Del Sol and Casino of the Sun will close its doors starting Wednesday in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a statement released Tuesday night. The Casino Del Sol released a statement on Facebook saying they will close tomorrow at 5 p.m. And will be ceasing all operations until April 13. Sewailo Golf Club will remain open during this time. The Del Sol Marketplace will remain open with limited hours from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The RV Park will also remain open.
The company reports that Casino Del Sol employees will continue to be compensated during the closure.
Casino Del Sol Resort is hosting a variety of specials at its restaurants in celebration of the holiday season. Holiday feasts, spirited dinners, live music, handcrafted cocktails, and more will be featured on the property.
On Christmas Eve, December 24, the Tequila Factory will feature a Surf and Turf dinner from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. for $25 per person. The dinner includes a 12 oz. Chile Dusted Prime Rib with a Cabernet Herb Au Jus, topped with three grilled Jumbo Mexican White Shrimp. The meal is served with a baked potato stuffed with Calabasitas and Elote Sauce.
Christmas Day, December 25, will feature Chef Erik’s Merry Christmas Dinner at PY Steakhouse. From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., gusts can enjoy a three-course dinner for $45 per person. The first course includes Sweet Corn Bisque with Dungeness Crab Fritter, followed by Braised Lamb Shank, horseradish mashed potatoes, Thumbelina carrots, and Orange Mint Gremolata as the entrée. The final course, dessert, is a Holiday Trifle with Spiced Fruitcake and Chantilly.
New Years Eve, December 31, PY Steakhouse will feature a four-course dinner from $48-$65 per person from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. The steakhouse will also feature a Degustation Menu, a multi-course elegant dinner with wine pairings for $110 per person. Roasted Butternut Squash Bisque, Lobster Carpaccio, Waygu Beef Tenderloin and a Dark Chocolate and Banana Soufflé are among the featured items in this menu.
From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Years Eve and New Years Day, guests can enjoy a Fiesta Buffet for $30 per person. The Tequila Factory will also feature a four-course New Year’s Eve Dinner fro 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. for $35 per person. This four-course delight will feature Habanero salsa and chips, Sonoran Tournedos, or beef tenderloin medallions sautéed to order, sweet bean tamale, and “rattle snake eggs,” or bacon wrapped fresh jalapenos stuffed with Oaxaca cheese and Mexican White Shrimp.
